What is BOTOX?

Botox is a neurotoxin that blocks transmission of nerve signals to muscles preventing them for contracting resulting in temporary reduction or resolution of moderate to severe wrinkles. While Botox is the most popular neurotoxin, there are a few other neurotoxins that serve the same purpose, such as Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau, which have slightly different chemical compositions, but can be used interchangeably with botox.
